ive had an amazon store card for nearly 2 years now. never late, never over the limit and has been paid in full for several months now. i started with a $300CL and still have $300. tonight i tried online for a CLI and it said my request could not be processed online. i called the 800 number and did the request via the automated support. i requested an increase of $700 to bring me to a CL of $1,000. the machine said my account was not eligible at this time. what does that mean "not eligible"? my scores arent great but according to this site my scores are good / average. ive also checked on credit karma, quizzle & sesame and they all report good scores. why would i be denied a CLI from amazon? ive always been a good paying customer to all my creditors. any ideas?
I believe that the Amazon store card uses TU, and I'd suggest getting a copy of that report, and see what's on it. I'd also try to get a current TU FICO score.
A couple of basic issues might be derogatories on your report, or high utilization.
my current TU score is 693. i just checked it here in myfico today. my total utilization stands at 4%. ive recently paid everything off and the 1 mastercard im using, which is a capital one quicksilver rewards card is paid way down under the CL. been that way for several months now. all those scores i my sig are from today and from myfico.com i do have 1 collection on my experian report for $29 . i have it in dispute, as its a medical bill that i have no knowlege about. never got a bill, phone call or anything. its from gla collections and i am going to call them tomorrow. other than that i got a clean report. all my accounts are in good standing.
Another possibility is that the lender has been reviewing your account periodically via soft pulls, and the most recent pull that they've made is out of date relative to your recent payoff that you mention. In other words, maybe they're using old information about your credit.
thank you for your advice. id assume that might be the issue. would it help to phone them to reconsider or just wait it out a few months and try again? waiting a few months will likely result in a score increase anyway. i hope.
I don't know the details of how this lender operates.
If you're sure that your reports are up to date, and are willing to take a hard pull for a CLI, then you could try calling them.
If the problem is an old soft pull, and you don't want to take a hard pull, then you might have to wait a while.
Ha ha, Amazon Store Card.

Amazon Store Card issued for $2500 used moderately always paid in full monthly zero balance
Twice requested limit increase denied both times, I only got this card to raise my available credit.
I cannot find a single reason to recommend this card .
.
I got my Amazon store card with a limit of $600 in November. It is connected to my kindle so I use it often but only for purchases .99-3.99 a couple times a month. In December I asked for a CLI online and got denied. But today I signed in and they raised me from $600-1900.00 automatically.
Just wait for it automatically and use your card monthly and you should be automatically increased. GECRB usually gives increases every 4 months so i have heard...
Got this card in Dec 12 with an $800 limit. Used heavily, used lightly, PIF, leave a balance ... never a CLI. Randomly hit the online request button recently and was upped to 1400. My TU FICO is near 750. Now that I can use the Barclay's Sallie Mae for 5% off Amazon I will probably never use this card again.
