another authorized user question

I've searched for the answer to my question on here, but did not find it.  So, sorry if this is a repeat!

If my husband is an au on one of my cards, can I send the creditor a letter asking to remove him?  If so, would this take the card off of his report and would it help/hurt his credit?
Thanks for any advice!

(p.s.  the reason  -- we are needing to get his debt/income ratio down for a big purchase he is making)

Re: another authorized user question

You should remove him anyway as the rules for AUs are changing. Yes, a letter to the CCC should suffice.
