authorized user

I am an authorized user on my grandmothers credit card. I rarely use it yet it impacts my credit score. Would I be better off having her remove me as an authorized user? or will it remain on my credit report even if she removes me

Re: authorized user

IF it is free of any derogs and the balance is low- it is helping.

I am sure you know that if FICO 08 ever kicks in - it will be removed from scoring.

Re: authorized user

When did she open the account? If the card has a long history to it - keep it.  It may also be to your advantage to help your grandmother pay any balances.

Being an AU on a card with a history to it and a low balance is a win-win situation.

It should be removed from your report once you are no longer AU. If it isn't, then all you do is simply dispute as "not mine".
