In reviewing my Trans Union report I noticed on some it was coming up with a different year of birth and some account info missing. So i called Trans Union and after identifying me they were able update record to show my correct date of birth and name suffix. Apparently there were also two seperate records (A & B). I asked how could this happen, but could not get a good explaination. Asked could this be the cause of TransUnion report pulled through different vendor and the one directly through TransUnion to be different. Again, they could not give a clear answer. After DOB correction, I asked if I pull my report from any source will it all show the same. Again wasnt sure but said to make sure they look at both records (which I have no idea how to tell them to do that). So the last option offered was to merge records, so I agreed. Well! I think I now understand the different records. In reviewing everything prior to merging it appears it only picked up from 2014 forward and I'm assuiming record B was before 2013. I had no lates on TransUnion, however I knew I had a 30 day late back on 1/2013. So once I merge them here it popped up on report. LOL. So I went to do the right thing and make sure information was accurate due to upcoming large purchase, didnt want issues with incorrect DOB or for some reason my installement loans on homes not showing up, I get this 30 day ding back on my record. Now, I'm not sure how hard it will effect since being from 1/2013? My TU V3.0 was 807 FICO 8 around 785.
Why don't you pull your FICO 8 Classic scores using the $1 trial tomorrow, and you can tell us how it changed.
@AnonymousDon't see $1 trail offer?
It's the very first thing you see plastered on the site when you go to it:
Well, I pulled my FICO 8 scores through Experian (same as I used before) so I could see the effect. Prior to yesterday it showed TransUnion FICO 8 at 784. Today it went up to 819!!! I'm assuming the missing account information for my installment loans out weighed a late payment over 5 years old. TransUnions Vantage Score (which had most of the information already) went from 807 to 806.

Is it difficult to cancel?
People say, not difficult, but time intensive. You might be on hold for an hour.
Other people say, just email your cancelation, but technically the agreement requires you to call, and as more people cancel by email, they might start telling people no.
