10 years, if negative the negative data falls off 7-7.5 years and the account turns in to good standing then falls off 3 years later. Total is 10 years with some exceptions which should not happen but sometimes does 7 years. You are scored on what you have, or had. So removing a good account from history before 10 years can lower your score. Keeping stuff is usually good if the stuff is in good standing.
