Hello, I have a debt in collections and I sent a debt validation letter to the collection agency.
I read that they have to validate the debt and have their piece of mail sent out 30 days or sooner before the date that they recieve my mail (Debt validation letter).
They sent out their piece of mail a couple of days after the 30 days passed from the day that the received the inital debt validation letter.
Does that make the collection not valid? Thanks
I think you meant *within* 30 days, not 30 days before they've received your letter...that wouldn't make sense.
In any case, first, did they send you an initial dunning notice (letter explaining debt, if you disagree with it, dispute it in writing with them within 30 days), and did you send your DV letter within said 30 days? If not, then your DV letter is moot and they're not required to reply period.
Thanks for the response Omar, the link to the validation letter I printed and mailed is posted here. Debt Validation Letter (eforms.com)
This is the first piece of mail I've sent

So just to be clear, you didn't get any letter from them first?
Not to jump in on @OmarGB9 helping you out. Not my style. Whos the CA and amount owed? That helps him also.
