Re: do not know what my biggest credit problems are

I had the 2 sales tax collection in Arkansas reported to the bureaus in April 07.  They are paid off.
I paid them in May 07.  My score dropped at that time about 24 point.  I think the maxed out cards had already done most of the score damage as it turns out.  Does anyone know how long the sales tax colllections will hurt me,and how badly they are hurting me now.

Congratulations on paying off and paying down on the 2 credit cards!  If those accounts are current and paid regularly, I suggest that you call them and based on your payment record request that the limits be raised and the interest rate reduced.  Do try not to max them. Do not close them as they show your payment history and the length of time you have held them.  This should also improve your scores.

The length of time to reflect should be based on how often those credit companies report to the credit agencies.

If they are still maxed out they are still hurting you.  However long the tax thing stays on the damage will decrease gradually. The fastest way is to bring uti down as quickly as possible the damage is immediately reversed.

Re: do not know what my biggest credit problems are

I would say that you should keep the main load of your debt on the business side of things. I keep my score up by using business credit cards and my BLOC for anything business related. This helps both you and your business because most business credit applications seem to focus mainly on your personal credit (personal guarantee.) Keep your personal credit card balances near zero this can be the best quick fix and make sure to keep your business credit payments up or the banks can report to personal credit if they should decide. Most business credit cards tend not to report on your personal credit in fact out of the four I have not one has ever reported (and some have told me that they do.)

Re the sales tax. You could try disputing them with an argument like this: These were related to my business and so should not be on my personal credit report. No idea what your chance of success would be, but I'm thinking if they are paid off they might not bother to verify.

Viewed 2 times  I added this post to this thread, since this thread is concerning these accounts. Thanks for any help

I am super upset here , so my typing may get bad.  I have been trying desperately to raise my credit score in the last month.  I have written here several times to get advice.  Now to get to the root of my newest problem.  I have 3 credit card accounts that I have had poor utilitzation on.  I have always paid them on time, but, I have always worked around the top of my credit limits.  I was advised to change this and did.  I went from nearly 95% utilization to under 20%.  In fact I have 2 of the 3 with 0 balance.
A line of credit I took out in 2003 for 39,000 and have paid monthly for nearly 5 years is now being reported like a credit card.  I have never reduced this account by much and still owe the majority of the amount borrowed. It was never reported this way before.  It only changed when I paid the other credit cards down.  It was like it was done on purpose.  I know this is irrational , but that is exactl the way it looks.  ONe day a credit report had raised my number to 672 from 643, and the next day it was back to 643.  I have had as high as 700 number last year. but it was lowered as I had high utilization on the 3 credit card accounts.  TransUnion and Equifax are now showing me at 94% utilization even though my credit cards are lower than they have ever been.  PLEASE ADVISE, ANYONE?
