filing dispute with FTC re: EX

has anyone ever filed a dispute with the federal trade commission against experian? how long did it take? what happened, were u successful? i am considering it because they refuse to investigate items on my CR most of the time. its ridiculous, my EX is approaching the 100 pt mark for being lower than my other scores.

Re: filing dispute with FTC re: EX

I've never filed any complaints with the FTC, but from what I gather, the FTC doesn't respond to each complaint. They file them away until they get enough complaints against one company to take action.

What is their reasoning for not investigating?

Have you tried sending them an ITS letter?

Re: filing dispute with FTC re: EX

I filed a complaint against TransUnion for refusing to investigate my complaint.  Like said above, they hold on to them and they go into some database, but heck, I don't care. The more people that file complaints the better. It doesn't take long and if you are that one person that makes a difference, then it's all worth it!

Re: filing dispute with FTC re: EX

I filed a complaint two weeks ago for the first time for a CA that said my dispute was invalid after sending a DV to them within 30 days of their dunning letter and they continued to call and write. To date, I haven't heard anything from the FTC. Like Sidewinder mentions, they probably gather enough complaints to take action. However, I have seen a couple posts of CAs going away (I know yours is an EX issue) with just one complaint to the FTC. I'm sure the CRA, CA, or whoever gets some sort of notice.

I've filed with them in regards to LVNV, Midland and Bank of America. They responded but the matters were never settled.
