Re: flatline score

Thanks again... I don't want to make that mistake going prime too soon.. I have mortgage companies telling me they can give me prime right now.. (7%)  but I don't trust them.. and I don't want to waste an inquiry on it..

I was going up about 10 points a month but it got slowed down when the mortgage started reporting.. At least on a good note, my score didn't go down.

I was hoping within a year I will be in the prime area of around 620 to 640.. But I am told with the mortgage meltdown some lenders increased the minimum prime score to about 660.. and some may go as high as 680. Smiley Sad

Its frustrating, but it will probably take me a little longer than a year to get in that area..  I guess time will heal it..

Re: flatline score

definitely get those lates removed if you can. that's a "quick and easy" fix. GW letters cost .41 and you can keep sending them as long as you can stand to. In the meantime, the UT going down should help even more. can I ask where you got a mortgage while having scores in the 500's? what kind of rate are you paying?
