freeze credit: how to do it?

I am concerned that a fomer landlord who rented me a crappy room and has my social security number may try to open accounts in my name.  She has poor credit and can't even get a job nor can her live in boyfriend.  She also has a son who I suspect is a drug user and lives in a camper outside their home with his girlfriend.  It was so traumatic I am hiding in a hotel and started gambling again-my worst habit.  I need to freeze my credit so she can't open up accounts in my name.  How do I do this?  Please help.

Each bureau has a website that allows you to do it as well.

I know that. I was giving a quick reference before a mod moved this thread for the OP. This is why I dont post often and just read. Everyone fights to be right. I dont need to be quoted.  I dont need a freeze. Tell the OP. Later folks. Back to reading.

Lol.  I have no desire to "be right."  I am sharing information that might benefit the OP, expanding on your post.  Learning that there are websites that accomplish the same thing is a significant convenience.  The OP can then decide if they prefer to call or try to do it online.  Forums are about exchanging information.  As someone who hates calling, I would have been thrilled to learn of a website.  And I'm sure there are people who prefer calling.

Testy, are we?
