im still trying to learn the whole sol and dola but its really confusing. anyways i hope someone can help thanks!
Hi wifey2106, To start the SOL on CC for Va. is 3 years and in Cali.its 4 years. What is the DOFD/DOLA on the COs?
You need to know your SOL so you do not get into a bind & have the OC or CA file a lawsuit against you.
They can file a lawsuit in either state....where you lived when you applied for the CC or where you live now. This is why I asked for the DOFD/DOLA
Are the OC reporting alone or is there a CA reporing also? They are each handled in a different way.
You do not want to dispute the OC unless there is a good reason (like need of account info.) every dispute will update and FICO might read it as being newer then it is.
We would send a CA a DV CMRRR (if not past SOL be ready to pay)
Never dispute or send a DV if within SOL unless you have the money to PIF.
Always try to pay the OC before dealing with a CA when you can!
When you must deal with a CA always do so in writting...no phone calls!! You want a good paper trail.
Be very careful of Cap1....they will sue you in a heartbeat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If within SOL do not even breath on it!
