Many here have much higher total credit limits, again generally takes a) time and b) a desire to achieve such a goal of say $1-2M
Some seeking this accept annual feeds on cards just for the high CL (rather than paying a fee for other useful benefits) so there are tradeoffs.
@Jrobertson1998 wrote:I am on a journey to get an 800+ credit score by the end of 2023. I have been building my credit up for the past year and my credit score now is in the 740s. I have only a few accounts 4-5 accounts primary accounts, ranging aroung $4000-$9000 and I am an authorized user on about 3 CC accounts, ranging around $4000-$11000. I have an account(s) with Discover, Bank Of America, Goldman Sachs (Apple Card), and Synchrony Bank (PayPal 2% Cashback Card)(Verizon Visa), have about 3 years and 6 months of average age, and I am an authorized user on Citi, Capital One, and Chase cards. My Data Points is this 100 on time payment history, about 8-9 accounts, under 10 percent utilization, 0 inquries, 0 auto loans, personal loans, or mortgage. To everyone who has acheived an 800+ credit score, tell me what led you to an 800 and also what were some of your data points as well to acheive this.
@Jrobertson1998: It took me 27 months to hit 800 on my EQ FICO 8 score. However, since you already have a sufficient number of primary credit account bankcards (minimum of 3) with a credit history of 12 months, if you're willing and able to:
1. open a share secured loan this month to use the SSL Technique (or open any installment loan this month that reports a balance under 9.5% in November and December 2023),
2. garden for the next 12 months,
3. have a perfect payment history, and
4. use the AZEO method in November and December 2023,
then you can hit 807 in 24 months of credit history without any AU accounts. A forum member, Subexistence, did it at 20 years old.
You can get very close to 800 in 2 years, even if you don't garden. I had only been gardening for 4 months, so I was on a new account score card, and I still had a 797 EQ FICO 8 Score at 24 months of credit history.
FWIW, you don't need 800 credit scores. You only need a FICO 8 score of 781 or higher to qualify for the best interest rates. For most mortgages, to qualify for the best interest rates, you need a median mortgage FICO score of 740 or higher if you have a 20% down payment or 760 or higher with no down payment. My median mortgage score at 24 months was 741, even with a new CC account. No AU accounts.

Thanks for your reply
Update: I ended up hitting 810 breifly on transunion, steps I took. I aged up credit reports a bit by getting added a beefy authorized user account, Opened an auto loan paid on it for 6 months, and paid on my balances bringing my utilization percentage down to under 10 percent. One thing that really helped a bit was a couple of installment loan accounts, auto loans. Feels amazing finally being apart of 800 club honestly.
