i disputed a 4 year old claim that was said that i was late 4 90 days it was paid of they messed up or whatever
so i disputed it today
will this affect my credit score?
please let me know
hopefully i didnt do bad i should have asked you guys first
You disputed because you were never 90 days late, right?
Disputing can cause a decrease or increase in your scores that may or may not be temporary.
When you dispute, certain aspects of the TL is removed from scoring. If those aspects that are removed were hurting your score, you should see an increase. If they were helping your score, you may see a decrease.
If the dispute is "verified" and nothing changes, your score should rebound to what it was pre-dispute.
If the account is removed from your report, your score may change even more and it may stay at what it changed to after the dispute.
as i recall i wasnt 90 days late
on my experian report it says it was hurting my score
i called the card they said i was late
so what happens now? are they not gonna take it off because the cc company says i was
how long does a dispute usually take?
i knew i should of just left it alone but it was 4 years ago and i dont remember anything of that 90 days late
If the CC states you were late, chances are they are going to just verify your dispute and nothing is going to change.
You need to send a written dispute directly to the CC and ask for an investigation and proof that you were late.
The CRA has 30-45 days to complete a dispute.

If the late payment was more than 2 years old then it shouldn't effect your score.... Late payments less than 2 years old impact your score by a few points. I think you can also find this information in http://ficoforums.myfico.com/fico/board/message?board.id=ficoscoring&thread.id=29793

Single, 30 day lates do not have much effect on score after 2 years.
However, the more severe the lates are and the more you have, the longer the effect last.
