inconsistent negative removal across three Bureaus

For sake of better undestanding:

I have a couple for petty (under 200 dollars) collection items appear on my credit report when I was involved in a not at fauly car accident that messed up my credit.
Both have been paid in full. One company said they would remove it the other it took the help of Lexington Law to have them remove it. My question is that it appears to be removed only on my Transunion report but not (perhaps yet) from Equifax and Experian.

(1) Is it common that they three of them reflect inconsistent data since they don't report among themselves?
(2) Is it perhaps that the other two have not reviewed my credit yet?

(3) How often is do the three review and update data?

Thanks

David

Re: inconsistent negative removal across three Bureaus

It is common for furnishers to report derogs to only one or two CRAs.

The FCRA mandates that what is reported cannot knowingly be inaccurate, not that what is reported must be the same with each CRA. FCRA 523(a)(1).

Inconsistencies are only disputable if the inconsistency can be shown to be an inaccuracy.

When a party chooses to report with a given CRA, they then assume the requirment under FCRA 623(a)(2) to prompltly update that item such that it reflects its current accuracy.  Thus, for example, if the consumer disputes and the furnisher determines that they cannot verify the acccuracy, they must update with each CRA, either by correction or deletion.  However, if they determine the accuracy can be verified, they do not have to maintain the reporting with each CRA.

In the posted scenario, the fact that a collection was deleted with one CRA is not an admission that it could not be verified.  It is only a determination that they voluntarily decided to terminate reporting with that CRA.

It could very well be possible that the other two haven't updated yet, depending on how long ago you were told this would be deleted. If this was recent, then this could be what is happening.

However, if it's been a couple of months, then it could be something else, including what Robert was saying.

It's not uncommon.  Don't just assume that all 3 should be identical.

Creditors and CA's report to the CRA's.  The CRA's don't pull the information.  It's a matter of the company reporting the deletion to the CRA.  The CRA's can take a while to update after receiving information but that's typically on the order of several business days.
