Assume someone has 100k or more in credit limits.
Is there a min balance on an account to get AZEO optimazation?
could the balance be 1 cent on one card? i suppose not because perhaps the creditor wouldnt report any balance due to rounding...
can your balance be $15 on a $25k limit card and all other balances at 0 and still get AZEO optimization? but that's not even 1%...
or does the balance need to be at least 1% of the card limit?
or does the balance need to be at least 1% of your cumulative card limits?
applying for a mortgage soon and want to eek out every last point.
I think if your statement shows any balance greater than zero, it would count, but hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chime in soon. I've also wondered about this. Thanks for posting.
As long as it's not rounded to a zero, so a dollar should work
Things to note:
Some issuers forgive a dollar or two at statement, so it could zero instead
They say to put it on a major bankcard, so like a Visa or other major network, not store card
I've had it closer to 0% than 1% but still get the AZEO boost
Fico always rounds up so $15 on a 25K card would be 1%. I would not go much below $10, this is my opinion. You can also play with how many cards report my best Fico seems to be with 2 of 18 reporting. I lost 3 Fico 8 points for paying off my second card last month and only having 1 report 27% of its CL (4% overall util).

and beware that while Fico rounds up, some of the mobile apps like Experian show a utilization that is rounded down (so they will show you 0%) even though the Fico is calculated using 1%. Mobile apps should be ignored.
Also make sure the card you do AZEO does not carry a very high credit line.
FICO 2 scores will penalize you if you do AZEO using a card with very high credit line.
search the forum for the specifics . @Anonymous , @AllZero and @Anonymous have the exact number.
for example if you do a AZEO on a card with 60K credit line - you will lose big points on FICO 2s
AZ penalty (FICO 2 scores will treat it as All Zero)

Reaching way back into my memory I think this is because at some point FICO started treating high limit credit cards as though they were home equity lines of credit. If somebody owed 40K for a home remodel on a 70K limit HELOC, they didn't want to penalize the consumer. But of course if they don't score it at all as a revolving account, you get the dreaded 20 point penalty for not having any revolvers report a balance. This also comes up with AMEX cards but others with more knowledge can chime in. I do have two 50K limit cards (one with Navy and a Cap 1 Venture card) and if I leave a $5 balance on either one it does satisfy the requirement that one revolver show a reported balance.

Per Birdman7: The revised cut off of $31,000 or less for the mortgage Score AZEO. TU4 and EQ5 are still 35,000 but EX2 somewhere between 31,000-34,900.
See 2. AMOUNT OF DEBT CATEGORY > B. Number of Accounts Reporting a Balance/AZEO

@gdale6 I seriously doubt you lost three points for going from two accounts with a balance to one account with a balance. Something else had to be going on.

I have been experimenting for years with this, I know of what I speak. I have zero derogs and I paid off the 200 balance on my second card so it reported zip, the account reporting was paid down 500 bucks, so yeah it was because the second account stopped reporting a balance. My best Fico 8s are actually achieved with 3 accounts of 18 reporting a balance.
