Re: judgements that r paid

Court issues a judgment, gets paid, and then generally the CRAs scan the court files to detect and report judgments. It's possible you could get GW on a judgment. I'd start with the OC.

Perhaps either the OC or the CA is reporting it, and perhaps they would respond to a GW letter. If the CRAs were reporting it from their scans of court files, and you got the CA or OC to agree to a GW delete, you might still have to dispute it with the CRAs and get the CA or OC to not confirm it.

While they cannot fiddle the dates, the FCRA leaves open a huge gap for the states to extend the reporting of judgments by resetting the SOL--if your state allows it.

Re: judgements that r paid

I have a question about judgements.  I agreed to a consent judgement where I make automatic monthly pymts and it will  be paid off 12/07.  I did not go to court for this.  The law firm called and I agreed to pay and provided the required info for automatic payment every month.  I received the papers in the mail and signed them.  It has not shown up on any of the CRs.  Does this mean that when it is paid they will not report it?  Or should I make a request for them not to report it now before I finish paying in 12/07?

Are you absolutely certain you have a judgment against you?
Were you served with a summons and complaint?
Are you sure they are a law firm?

Re: judgements that r paid

Hi Noah,

I did not get served a summons.  But I do have a consent judgement which I agreed and it stopped garnishment of my wages. Yes,  it was file in court by a real law firm.  Basically it states I agreed to pay all monies due and they won't take my pay. Also,  they will halt any further legal action as long as paid as agreed.

Is it in writing and do you have a copy?

Re: judgements that r paid

The consent judgement is in writing and I have a copy with the  court's stamp on it and all signatures in place, mine, the judge's, the atty and the court clerk.

Any indication about CRA reporting in the consent judgment?

Re: judgements that r paid

Nothing in the consent judgment addresses CRA reporting.
