judgment/charge off question

Hi all...I'm a newbie here and so happy i found these forums. A lot of good information on here so i thank you all for contributing and sharing your experiences. Here's my question. Back in 2004 i had an account with a creditor and unfortunately i had been going through a hardship (divorce and a death) and was having a hard time making all my payments. I was paying my bills every month but in some cases i couldn't even afford the minimum so i sent what i could. Well this one creditor ended up charging off my account because of that. It was then bought by a collection agency who had a judgment issued on me. I had no idea about the judgment until i went to take money out of the atm one day and found my accounts frozen. I received the judgment letter from my bank actually. Well, that day I went down and payed the judgment to this collector. My credit report shows the charge off still listed as charge off and the judgment as paid collection. Is there any way I can try and get these removed from my report. On one report it does say the judgment will be removed 12/08 and on another it say 9/10. Is it too late to try and send a GW letter or is there something i can do? I've been trying to get a car loan but i'm getting turned down due to the charge off and i'm hoping to be able to buy a co-op within the next year and I feel i won't be able to because of these negative marks on my report. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
