Wow, what does this mean?

well was it removed a year after it was first reported or a year after you paid it? Mine was first reported Nov. 2006 and I paid it in November of 2007. So I'm guessing it won't come off for another 11 months, and I'm trying to gear up to finance a car in the next 6 months. I don't have much time!!!!!!!!!!!
If Peas' collection came off early, it was most likely due to something she did or it was a stroke of luck. I wouldn't count on yours falling off in just two years. A collection can (and usually does) report for 7.5 years from the date of first delinquency that led to the collection, unless you can get it deleted somehow (like by CRA dispute, DV, PFD, or GW).

It was definitely luck!

Whirled Peas, I NEED a new car. Mine has 185,000 miles on it and overheats when I turn on the AC. I spend every free penny I have on the car: water pumps, tires, brakes, it leaks oil... I spend more on it every year in repairs than the car is worth. And yeah, I guess I'll re-read the old advice. I haven't heard back from any CB's about it, so maybe I'll try again in February. Thanks guys.
