I am paying for a myFICO account to monitor my scores post-discharge. I have the $30/month membership. However, my credit scores aren't getting updated often, with Experian not updating at all in the past month. A lot has changed (and been corrected) in the past month. Why aren't any scores updating? The last time Experian updated was 2/25/16 (the day I opened my membership) and TU and Equifax on 3/4 and 3/5. I have called the bureaus directly to check on disputes (which have been corrected), so I know that there have been changes to my accounts. When I called myFICO to ask about this, they told me that if I wanted an updated score I would have to pay for a $50 report. What is the point of paying $30/month when I have to pay an additional $50 to get the scores I'm supposed to be getting with the $30 membership??
If by a lot has changed, you mean derogs that have been removed and information that has been corrected, those are not things that trigger an update.
I mean:
1. Debt that was discharged is still showing up (although it's correct when I check my credit reports directly via my free state reports)
2. Late payments that were never late (only stopped paying after we filed for bankruptcy, up until then our payments were all made and on time)
3. Credit inquiries
These were enough to trigger updates from the other two reporting agencies (more recently than Experian). But not for Experian?
Each of the CRAs has a specific set of triggers and those triggers vary.
So, even though it greatly affected my score and changed my credit report, and is so reflected on my free Experian report, it doesn't reflect in myFICO scores? From what I understand, myFICO waits for the score info to be sent TO them, and doesn't actively seek it out. So, in theory, I could be paying $30/month with my credit score changing significantly, but myFICO won't bother to update my account beceause they won't seek out my score unless I pay $50 more?
The MyFico system only provides a score update if a trigger event occurs, so even of EX reports a change it may not update here if it is a type of change that is not classified as a trigger event.
I am having a similar situation. CK and CS are updating much faster than myFICO. I apped for a mortgage on Thursday at 4:35. CK sent me an email within 10 minutes. CS sent me an email about an hour later. MyFico did not alert me until this morning: a full 36 hours later.
In addition, my new AMEX account was finally reported by AMEX. CK and CS both alerted me yesterday. I have not been alerted yet by myFICO.
I am starting to lose faith in the myFICO monitoring. I have the up level package for 2 reasons: updated scores and alerts for changes. If myFICO does not alert me in a timely fashion, then why am I paying so much for nothing?
