I've been using Experian's credit report monitoring service but thanks to all of you I now know that 1) the scores provided there are FAKOs and 2) the info provided as "helping" or "hurting" my score is generally bogus. As a result, I'd like to switch to a product that gives real FICOs and better advice about what's helping and hurting me.
Is Score Watch the best option for regularly knowing my legit credit report info? Also, why does Score Watch only monitor Equifax - can I not get something similar for TransUnion through myfico too??
Nevermind... after some digging, I found the answers to my questions!!
That was quick!
If only all of life's questions were answered that fast ![]()
No kidding... when I first searched the boards, I didn't find my ansers, but when I dug into it, I found what I needed to know ![]()
MBOhio2,
Can you share what you found with us. I'm interested.

Answer: Score Watch was developed as a joint effort between myfico and Equifax so it's only for Equifax and it's the only monitoring service that gives you the real Equifax FICO score (others only give FAKOs).
Can I not get something similar for TransUnion through myfico too??
Answer: Score Watch is only for Equifax, but there is a myfico quarterly monitoring service for TransUnion. The only other alternative is getting a monitoring service directly from TransUnion. This will allow you to monitor monthly, but then your scores will be FAKOs not real FICOs.
If anyone thinkks the above is wrong, please chime in!!

The only thing I would add is that you can get the same SW service directly from Equifax.
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem".
Marine - does the one directly from Equifax provide real FICOs too??

Yes. It's exactly the same service you get here.
And the same version of the EQ FICO- Beacon 5.0.

If I'm remembering correctly, you just want to be careful to sign up for the right program if you do use the Equifax site. SW shows FICO scores, but other Equifax products do not use FICO scores - they use FAKOs.
