dear all,
i found there are some false infomation on my credit report. however, i have disputed with transunion directly but they are not willing to remove those infomation. I am now looking submit a complaint by other govt regulated agencies. Can any one listed me some agencies who are helpful for fighting with credit report agencies.
here are 2 i found.
cfpb
bbb
let me know if u know other agencies who could help.
thanks.
The CFPB would be the one for credit reporting, They enforce the actions of the CRAs and creditors.
The BBB would be considered for business practices and cannot force a creditor/CRA to do anything. Many have luck with them and that is good but the BBB cannot make them comply with any rules and regulations.
For billing related issues there is the Fair Credit Billing Act.
Knowing what type of false information is reporting would help with giving advice. Fraud, ID theft?
some fraud charges on my credit card.
the credit card is mine but the charges inside WAS NOT mine.
any help?
i already did, but they dont agree on removing those fraud charges. dunno why
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/resources/forms/affidavit.pdf Fill out this form, file a police report and send both to the creditor. Ask for all documentation on the account.
Your situation is exactly what the FCRA identity theft process is intended to cover.
The OC has no say over blocking of their reporting from your CR if you follow the identity theft procedure by filing a police report and sending it to the CRA.
They must block with no input from the creditor.
You can additionally send the police report to the creditor and obtain all their business records pertaining to establishment and use of the account.
Since it is fraud charges on a legitimate CC, I don't think it can be blocked by the CRAs
what does OC means?
so i cant complaint on a situation like mine. even the card is mine but the charges itself IS NOT mine.
OC is original creditor.
You can complain. I am saying I don't think the CRAs can block a CC account that is legitimate but has fraud charges on it.
