i tried complaining to the cfpb and bbb, but I feel their help is limited?
any organization i should submit my help to?

File a complaint with the FTC. They enforce the Fair Credit Billing Act.
"FCRA 605B Block of information resulting from identity theft
(a)Block
Except as otherwise provided in this section, a consumer reporting agency shall block the reporting of any information in the file of the consumer that the consumer identifies as information that resulted from an alleged identity therft, not later than 4 business days after the date of receipt by such agency of -
(1) appropriate proof of the identity of the consumer
(2) a copy of an identity theft report;
(3) the identification of such information by the consumer, and
(4) a statement by the consumer that the information is not information relating to any transaction by the consumer."
Without quotinng its entirety, section 605B(c) specifies conditions under which a CRA can decline to block, and include materially false representations of fact by the consumer, or the consumer having received goods or services as a result of the alleged identity theft transaction.
The intent of the process is that, while you continue to fight the showing of actual identity theft, your alllegation, supported by an identity theft/police report, removes it from your credit report. It is not a fact finding process that the OC can contest.
RobertEG, I would normally agree. However, these are charges on a legitimate CC. How could the CRAs block an entire TL for some charges that are fraud.
Wouldn't this be more of a billing, FCBA issue?

Not sure which card you are referring to.
I had an Orchard card that had fraudulent charges on them. I disputed those charges, not the entire TL, with the creditor. They removed them while investigating, found them to be fraud and that was that.
They never reported my entire TL in dispute to the CRAs. It was inhouse and just for those charges.
