I was wondering about NFCU membership....I'm sure I'm making this more complicated than it needs to be but such is my nature. See if this will fly...
My uncle is eligible to be a member (may already be a member, I'm checking with him now).
If he is in, his sister/my aunt can join. (his sister/my mother passed away so that connection is out)
If she joins - here is the ifffy part - she will be out of the country this summer on a sabbatical. Can I have her join and use my address? Then I can join because she's a member of my household?
I know I'm being a nut and I don't really have a NEED to join NFCU but I want to know if I can.
I read (on another board) that NFCU "have been known to pull the rug later on if you have fudged any details".
I don't want that to happen. Would the above scenario fly or is it just bogus?
(boy, do I ever have too much time on my hands on a Friday night! Sorry to waste your time with a silly hypothetical like this - tooooo much coffee.)
i would ask your uncle to call and explain he would like to expand his membership to you, but the traditional route off sibling to child isn't available because of your mothers death. i'm sure they have confronted this scenario before. just have him call and ask to speak with a membership specialist. good luck, let us know how it turns out.
i would be very leary of fudging anything, not only will they pull the membership it's also a crime. now if you're aunt is on sebatical she is most likely maitaining a us addy and if that matches yours then your scenario would be legit.
