i looked at my CR and found many accounts with the same account number. i thought that i would call who i thought was the OC but they said that they got the account from another creditor. i have found the OC and they report on my CR that the account was paid as agreed and it has a 0 balance with a 0 past due. i called the 1st company and they don't know who they got the account from. they told me to dispute it. does this qualify as "not verified"? and should i dispute with all 3 CB or just try to get the CRA's that have this account to delete it?. there are 3 CRA's with this same account but some of them show 0 balance and paid after collection. i would rather they all get off my CR but the account in good standing.
Is the account actually paid? Is it past SOL? What is DOFD?
It might help if you list the accounts that are showing from each of EQ, EX, and TU.
I'm not sure from your post who/how many is reporting. You said "should I dispute with all 3 CB or just try to get the CRA's that have this account to delete it?
I assume you mean EQ, EX, and TU by CB(I think you mean credit bureaus) but normally that is abbreviated CRA's, which you use that abbreviation later, where I think you mean CA.
I'd hate to assume wrong and answer you wrong.
Here is a guide to common abbreviations.
You might find it easier to copy/past from your CR what is showing and then someone can advise you better.
But, if the account was paid to the OC, then you need to DV all the CA that is reporting it. I'd worry about getting those off before dealing with how/what the OC is reporting.
If it is NOT paid, and is past SOL, I'd do the same.
If it is NOT paid and is NOT past SOL, I'd be prepared to pay if you send a DV and wake them up.
A OC and a CA can report at the same time.
More than one CA can NOT report at the same time.
