please help me!!!!!!

long story short.

30 years old.  have a lot of unpaid medical bills from the US Army from 2008-2009, dont ask.  last month it was 11,700, i got a lawyer, lexington law, in 3 weeks its now reporting 6200 to TU and 9 items removed.

in december i went to 3 car dealerships, they spammed my info out 10-12 times, i have roughly 20 inquires with EQ n EX.

my credit score went from 624 to 554.  paid some debt, just got an increase on my CC a few days ago from 300 to 450 (credit one, sucks)

its back up to 612,  hasnt had a major credit update since the medicals been removed, in about a week it will... may.

myFICO score is 575 as of 4/22/14 up from 533 from 3/19

my issue is, when will the credit go up?  whats the quickest way for my credit score to jump.  im debating on going with a crap company like roadloans with 13-15% interest over 72 months and refinancing when my score hts 640 with my credit union.  aspire fed union, 4.9% with a score of 640.  any help is appriacated, thank you!!!

edit; i havent missed a car payment since 2004.  any places actually LOOK at that or just the score?  should i open a secured card with cap one and put a few hundred into it or would that hurt me since its another inquiry???//

how come myFICO score is 533 and hasnt updated since march 19th?

anyway, i want a 2008/2009 lexus is250, i owe $2000 more than my current cars worth so i have to roll a little into the new car.

my issue is, when will the credit go up enough so i can get a decent rate?  its borderline "not fair" this is happening.  whats the quickest way for my credit score to jump.  im debating on going with a crap company like roadloans with 13-15% interest over 72 months and refinancing when my score hts 640 with my credit union.  any help is appriacated, thank you!!!

Why not use your current car if it works, esp. if it appears you have some debt to repay first to strengthen the credit report/FICO so that you can have a strong credit foundation in the future? In this way by not borrowing more (increasing utilization), you FICO will go higher as you want.

Re: please help me!!!!!!

its me being picky.  its a 2012 elantra and ive had it almost 3 years.  im done with it.  i make a lot more money now and want a nicer car.  as far as debt, the medical bills are property of the US Army and i refuse to pay 1 penny.  regardless it just dropped from 11,700 to 6,200 on april 14th.  the only other debt i have is $300 of $1,100 in credit debt from merrick bank.  in a few weeks it'll be $0.

gotta figure out the best way to get a good rate and increase my credit score!!

ok, if getting a new car is your goal at a good rate, try a credit union first since they seem to be more competitive in my experience than the dealership. Since the cc debt will be zero in a few weeks, wait a month after that and try applying and see how that goes and then you can reassess your strategy based on the outcome of the car loan request. good luck.

Re: please help me!!!!!!

my credit card debt is $300 of $1550.  300 isnt gonna improve anything to the point where i need.  is it?  do credit companies update the first of the month?

When the factors that play into your score improve:

Derogs (which fall under the largest slice in the pie above) are always major items that will hold you back.  Visit the Rebuilding subforum to see what you can do about addressing your derogs.

Re: please help me!!!!!!

Try to get added as an AU on a few more cards. I added my ex husband on some of my cards for a few months last summer because he basically had no credit score....we couldn't  even pull his. Kept getting messages that his file was too thin. Within 3 months of my adding him, he was able to get a Discover card and a Citi card on his own. His bank recently sent him a bank credit card he didnt even apply for and NO, it wasnt a debit card. They called him and asked if he would be interested, soft pulled his credit and mailed it to him.

After he got his own cards, I removed him as an AU on my cards but they are still reporting on his reports.

Now his scores are almost as high as mine.
