I have in the last 2 months become totally addicted to repairing my credit to improve my score. I have a few questions first let me say my credit scores started out at 554 587 587 I had 7 collections that all have been paid and are getting deleted from my report, have 2 charge off that will show "paid in full" (couldnt get them to commit to PFD). I think one thing that is killing my scores are my sallie mae student loans 2 of them total amount of both loans are only 2000.00. I was under the assumption that the loans were in deferment; which they were not, and sallie mae was sending all past due notices to an address that i never lived at, so i never knew that payments were due. I have written GW letter to them, and got turned down. would paying the entire loan amount help my credit score any? or should I just continue to make the monthly payments? ( in the last 3 years this loan is the only loan that i have any late pays on) I have a car loan, harley loan, 5000 signature loan that just got paid off in a 12 month pay period. one HSBC CC that has 500 limit that ive had for 5 months that i use and pay off every month. I guess im rambling my question is seeing what ive done to the collections and the CO's and the sallie mae thing, can i expect a raise in my scores in the next couple of months? also any suggestions as to what to do next? looking to buy a home (VA loan) in 4-5 months.
