Hi, I recently received a credit report from Transunion. They recorded one of my accounts as an "adverse" account that I was not expecting. The account was a LOC serving as overdraft for my Bank of America checking account. It had a balance on it when BofA decided to suspend the account last year because I was behind on my mortgage payment, even though was never late or behind on on paying this LOC account. I continued to make regular payments for the past several months, and recently paid it off completely.
It seems to me that calling this account "adverse" is misleading, because I never missed a payment on it. Is this an error on the part of TransUnion that I can correct?
It's not up to TU to do anything about it until you dispute it with them, they are not the furnishers of the information the OC is, however the law says what they report must be accurate, so by disputing the TL that's on your report TU has to do an investigation. How is reporting, other than just being in the Adverse Accounts section of your report? I would dispute with the OC as well. Just my opinion.
