Hey Guys, I'm new here. I just received an alert that said "accounts in dispute" and I'm a little confused. I did chanllege a couple of inquiries, could that be what this means? The report doesn't clarify. Thanks in advance.
Did you start any chargeback process?
No.. I only challeneged some inquiries one bank of which I have a credit card with.
Then it's probably due to the inquiry dispute.
Did you send the "challenge" to the CRA, or directly to the party who made the inquiry?
The direct dispute process does not permit the dispute of inquiries, so if sent to the inquiree, it should have been dismissed and not treated as a dispute.......
Yes, I sent the letters directly to the inquirier not the Bureaus.. so Im confused.
The implementing regulations for the direct dispute process, which have the force of law, explicitly exempt any disputes related to credit inquireis from the direct dispute process. Direct disputes relate to contesting the reporting of consumer information to a CRA by a "furnisher."
The rationale for exclusion of inquiries, as explained in the implemeniting rulemaking package published in the Federal Register, is that inquiries are not the furnishing of consumer information to the CRA, and thus there is no "furnisher" with which to make a direct dispute. Inquiries are requests to see what others have reported to a consumer's credit file.
See 37 CFR 660.4(b)(iii).
You can file a request to have the remarks removed based on there having been no legitimate direct dispute.

A “challenge” and “dispute” in this case are the same thing. You disputed the inquiries. So naturally it was noted on your account. It will remain until the process is concluded.
Thank you
