"current status" question

I have a couple of paid accounts that have the current status listed as 60 days past due. These are closed accounts with a $0 balance. But the current status is still showing late. Would this make a difference in my score? I have requested the companies to update, but have not seen any thing yet. I am not even sure it would make a difference since they are paid accounts.

Re: "current status" question

Were they ever 60 days past due?  In the dim and distant past, AKA the last 7 years?

Re: "current status" question

Yes they had been late, but they are paid now. I understand it will list them as being late on the payment history, I am have other accounts that I was late with and then paid and they are all listed "ok" under the "current status" or maybe "ok, was 30 days past due"

Re: "current status" question

I have the same issue with one of my accounts that is paid in full, but the status says 120 days past due.  I called TransUnion on yesterday, but the person I spoke to had no clue what I was talking about.....

Re: "current status" question

is it hurting you- yes

the biggest difference between "Current/OK" and the status you have is the "pays 60" will delete after 7 years DOFD.

Work with them to update the status -
Ask nice- they do not "have" to change this.

Re: "current status" question

A goodwill letter or phone call to the OC should change that. I had the same thing happen and spoke (with a little groveling thrown in for good measure) to someone at the OC and they changed it from "XX days late" to "Paid/Pays as agreed". Just have to be nice and humble but firm...

BTW it was also a "closed and PIF account"

Re: "current status" question

What if they account status says "pays as agreed", but there are obvious little yellow and red blocks indicating lates?

Those are "baddies" and stay on your account for 7 to 7.5 years from the DOFD

Re: "current status" question

GRRRR....I thought I had something for a minute.  I was in total financial distress the entire time I was paying for my old vehicle.  My M-I-L had cancer and we were trying to basically run her household and mine with just 2 paychecks. What are my chances that I can get ALL of the lates deleted with a GW.  And, trust me when I say...there were several.

Re: "current status" question

Just keep sending letters, and be descriptive about circumstances.
Someone there has got to have a heart (hahaha) and you need to get the letter to that person.
