Re: "myFico Bill me later.."

My Bill Me Later Account is handled by Chase. I will NEVER EVER buy anything from BML again. I never used BML for several years. Maybe the policy has changed.. But,  it was never a line of credit with a set limit. You had to be approved for each individual transaction. That required a hard pull for every purchase.

Re: "myFico Bill me later.."

This is a very misleading 'feature' of the website. Wouldn't it be better if the reader were advised of a credit inquiry when choosing this option? Aren't we all here not only to monitor, but improve our scores?

i lost a whopping 15 points when they pulled another hard (this was the second hard after their initial hard pull ) on an overstock purchase.  at least the purchase was approved.  and i like the grace period- currently at overstock there is no minimum purchase for the 3 month promo.  i don't know of any ccc in the US that offers a 90 grace period.  Still 15 points, ouch!  Had i of known i would have chosen another payment method for the purchase.

Re: "myFico Bill me later.."

one year later...oops-my board skills clearly need some refinement, 'fraid i'm a bit all over the place...but just saying tho' i think it was actually a 20 point deduction for the single BML inquiry.  i better learn to pay closer attention to what i'm doing b4 moving to act, tx kid Smiley Happy

Re: "myFico Bill me later.."

I used Bill Me Later to buy a Compter back in December.  They pulled EQ.  The account never should up on my CR and I PIF before the 6 month due date.

some people don't like that there's no tradeline reported.  personally i find it a handy account to keep other lenders and fico scoring(since both are hyper-focused on balances) out of the loop w/(on at least this one account!) since you can't lose points or get rate jacked for high uti ratio while riding a promo.

I use it like you, strictly paying off the full balance b4 the end of the promo and it works like a magic bullet i'd say, doesn't it really Marty56?  i'm a wannabe convenience user (i'm almost half way there so far) so practice makes perfect.  i sometimes loftily pretend to my self (delusional) that it's the UK branch of my financing -since i understand that ccc's in the UK routinely offer much more forgiving grace periods on cc purchases than in the US for some unknown reason Smiley Surprised.
