ready to settle, what should I do?

I DV'ed a collection.  I want to settle what do I do now in this situation?  It was sold to a different lender. The OC is reporting as charge off and the CA is reporting as new account owned by them. Is there a way to get both to PFD.  If I pay CA, the OC will still report. If I pay OC the CA owns the account.  Who would you deal with?

What do you mean by 'if you pay the OC'?  If they own it, the PFD offer goes to them and you include that they remove any and all CA activity and reporting.

If they sold and the CA validated, you PFD with them and GW the OC.

If the CA that validated no longer has the account, you DV CA2.

Always deal with the OC when at all possible if they still own, even if it takes a few attempts because they brush you off to a CA that they have hired.

Re: ready to settle, what should I do?

That is a lot of action to be going on for an account that only went bad 9 months ago, unless you were making payments and they reaged you.

Can you go down the timeline with a little more detail?   Smells funny like the CA did something.

OC1 sold account to OC2 who then had CA1 collect who then sold to CA2... that sort of info plus dates as you recall them.  When was your last payment and to who... have you DV'd all CAs or was there only 1.

And are you certain that this is not owned by someone other than a CA?  As I said, 9 months... they really don't sell them off that fast though they might be hired to collect rapidly.
