reinsertion's on a split file..can you dispute them?

Ok here is one for the experts..

Its seems i had a split file with Experian..(actually it is dh's lol)
At first we thought it was just a simply screw up but not so...kind of surprising as its not a big file with only 2 enquiries on it.

Experian removed the incorrect repo that was on it and "fixed" the file.
When I pulled a fico score expecting a decent raise in points on my now fixed report it had gone from 652 to 643!

Looking through my report it seems a few things have now resurfaced on it..
one being a fed tax pr (valid) and state tax (not valid, old and payed) ..and a sears account that is old but was a paid charged off but is actually oldest account at 15 years old..oddly account age didnt change though.

Obviously I dont want the tax pr even though it is on my other cr's can I dispute it as a reinsertion I have old Experian reports from as far back as january showing its not there..or is that not suggested..I'm just mad its back it seems its always 2 steps forward one step back in this game ..

  thanks  : )

Are you sure this was EX?  I've never heard of a split file with EX.  I've only heard of them on TU and EQ.

You cannot dispute the PR as a reinsertion.  As long as it is within the CRTP, a reinsertion is allowed.  The only restriction is that if the account that is being reinserted was originally removed due to a dispute on your part, then the CRA has five days to notify you of the reinsertion.

If it dropped off due to a split file, though, then it never really dropped off in the first place, and is technically not a reinsertion.

Re: reinsertion's on a split file..can you dispute them?

Thanks Cheddar,
well I'm not 100% sure it was a split file, another memeber had said they just thought it was a genuine screw up on Wells fargo's side which I was thinking was right ..that is till all the other stuff turned up!
..all I know is Wells fargo couldn't update anything for me on my account with them on my Experian report..they tried and sent oscars etc multiple times, they had me send multiple dispute's but it still kept verifying bad info that shouldn't have been there.

Just last week Experian rep told me have Wells fargo contact there Experian provider (Ex wasn't trying to be helpfull they were just sick of me!) .Luckily the guy at Wells fargo did and they said I had 2 passwords? and they would fix it then they could rereport and everything would be right..

Well everything went according to plan I got the Wells fargo account fixed but the other stuff came as well...I could only think it was a split file as what else could it be to explain the other stuff reappearing..

To bad I can't dispute as a reinsertion but it was worth a try  : )
