should i Dispute or send a GW?

I had an account with WNNFB/Structure. i was siginificantly late back in 04, and the account was closed by them; at that time settled with them for 50% of the balance due (i was stupid, and didn't know how it would affect my credit and didn't know about PFD). it is reporting as a charge off/collection on my credit, but since i settled with them shouldn't it just show "legally settled for less than amount due?"

is one better than the other, and should i dispute or send a GW Letter?

Re: should i Dispute or send a GW?

is it one of your oldest accounts?

mine is not, but its by far my most dramatic derogitory. if i could get a delete on it i would. truth is though, it was my account, just not a CO/Collection

No, its been about 7 years since it was opened, but my worst account. All 3 of my CR reports report something different. One says straight charge off, the others are in the lines off paid off for less than full amount.

Re: should i Dispute or send a GW?

I wish somebody would explain to me why it states differently on each CR! Why don't the OC or the CA report the same info to each CR??
