Aha. 

Go up to the stickied threads at the top of this forum.  There is a lot of info in the Credit Scoring 101 and Frequently Requested threads.  You need to make sure you understand SOL, CRTP, and DV (debt validation) letters.  There should be some info on re-aging in there as well, among lots of other good stuff.  Debt collecting SOL varies by state and type of debt, CRTP is the 7 years that is fairly standard for reporting.  There is a big difference between the two.

Yes, payment would probably mean that you acknowledge the account.  You should still DV.

It is you who sends the DV letter to them.  You want them to have nothing to validate with... so them not being able to send you anything is a good thing.

You copy the DV letter and edit it to fit your details, type your name do not sign, and send it CMRRR.

The 30 day's  is well up. It's been a couple years and I made a payment like a year ago. I don't thINk I can DV.
