something other than amex?

I am hearing so many bad things about amex. Is there another prime CC I can get besides amex? Like CITI? my scores: 609/631/603. I just got approved for an amex but now I am thinking I don't want one b/c if I am away on business and need my amex card and it's frozen for FR... I am screwed!!

I have had nothing but great experiences w/ Amex Blue for Students. However, the only thing you can't set up right away is auto reoccuring payments. I called the helpline for the website and they said they are going to send me the info about how to do that.

Keep waiting. I am sure others will have the answer for you.

Depending on your credit situation, you may want to check out a local credit union, maybe Patelco or Penfed.

Your wise to be skeptical of Amex.  I have two Amex cards but I will never use them again because Amex is unreliable.

I think Amex and Citi are equally great. That's why I got a Citi Amex card. lol.

I have Amex Blue and Clear. Amex has been fine for me.. but the recent stories about FR make me livid. I only have one Citi card. The Dividends Platinum Select. I also hold BofA and Wells Fargo prime cards and a slew of store cards.

I must not forget my Hooters card. Use it for novelty only. Grocery store, church functions, child care, ect. I am easily amused.
