the 7-10 days letter

I've had mixed results with the 7-10 day letter--you know, the one you get when you apply for credit. Sometimes I have been approved, sometimes not.

I recently got the 7-10 response from AMEX when I requested CLI. I don't mind if they don't give me a CLI, but it would be nice to have more available credit so that's why I did it. Has anyone had a 7-10 day response letter regarding CLI and gotten approved with Amex?

I got the 7-10 message when I applied for my Delta card. About 6 hours later I got a call stating I was approved. Can't help with the CLI but AMEX was pretty fast getting me approved.

If you don't mind, with what score, who did they pull, and what derogs?

scores at the time of applying for the CLI were
703- TU
701- EQ
704 -EX

What I did change was my stated income. when applying for the card I listed household.
this time I listed just mine.
