Do you think the new FICO 08 , or some subsequent model will ever deal with the charge card issue. I have built such a good record and score using mostly amex products. I am happy with where I am , but do wonder where I might be with my score if I did not rely so heavily on amex (that's not going to happen though).

It is frustrating to me because I have plenty of credit in use but I believe it is paying off several amex cards on time , every month , for years that should really be telling about my ability to handle credit.

I understood that EQ and EX have started handling these correctly, and TU is still using an older model. Is your TU score significantly lower than the other two, or are they all affected.
* Credit is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master. * Who's the boss --you or your credit?
FICO's: EQ 781 - TU 793 - EX 779 (from PSECU) - Done credit hunting; having fun with credit gardening. - EQ 590 on 5/14/2007

Pay down all non-mortgage debt to $1K yields a whopping five point increase. The only significant change I can find so far that would improve score is sitting around and wait.

Hauling......... you are a genius. I don't know when this started but some time this past summer EQ and EX zoomed out past TU,  although they were always higher.

Thanks for the insight,

Smiley Very Happy !

Not a genius, just the owner of a HELOC that I haven't yet put serious money on! It's not exactly the same problem, but similar, so I have been vacuuming up every bit of info I can find about this, mostly from Timothy and fused, I think.

Those of us with AmEx charge cards and lines of credit, including HELOC, are waiting for TU to move into this millennium. Smiley Tongue
