using myFICO is unclear.

This is my first time using myFICO and it is unclear what I am supposed to do to get a credit report. Does the credit report come from either transUnion or Equifax and if so do I choose between one of them (or both) to get a report? Do I have to pay for the service provided by either transUnion or Equifax or is that a part of the myFICO free trial?

If you are new to the whole thing, start by getting all three reports free from www.annualcreditreport.com.

edit:  you can get reports from Transunion, Equifax, and Experien there for free once a year.

This will give you a starting point for finding and correcting any innacuraccies on your credit file.

Also, read the threads in understanding fico scoring.

As far as what to buy here, there are lots of products and it can be a bit confusing.  If you want your scores, the best way is to sign up for scorewatch.  It has a free trial that will give you scores, but after a trial period it will charge you for three months.  After you've tried it, if you don't want to keep going with a paid service be sure to cancel within the trial period.

Re: using myFICO is unclear.

If you signed up for Score watch it is EQ, if TU Quarterly it is TU.  On both of them you are provided so many with the service for free.  Anything above that you have to pay for.
