Re: Walmart Ficos are uppp...

I seem to be stuck at 697.  Been there for 2 months now, though I did expect a hit for some inqueries and opening an Ebates card.  Maybe I should be happy to be holding steady ATM.

Down from 771 to 768. Only thing that happened was a balance was paid off and an account changed length of history to longer.

up 6 to 692 for I haven't the faintest idea why.  Looks like the Walmart report is dated 5/2 that would've had 1 additional tradeline (no change to AAoA) but the recent Barclays inquiry got missed.

Expecting to take a dip in the next month or two: three new accounts dropping my AAoA down to 21 months (possibly 22 or 23 by the time they report, either way <2 years) and the inquiry from Barclays to move 0->1.  Was hoping to get that inquiry close to isolated but oh well.

Thanks Rev!  And congrats on your progress, as well.  I wasn't expecting an almost 40-point increase.  One thing that I appear to have gotten lucky with is my Sears card upgrading to the mastercard version a few weeks ago in April.  My Sears account had a 30-day late in February 2010.  Well, after the upgrade, the 30-day late disappeared from my TU report.  It's still showing on my EQ and EX, though.

I have only one scoreable INQ on my TU report, from my Sallie Mae app in February.  If not for that INQ, maybe I'd be at 850?  I can only dream!

Thank you, Kenny!!  It might be short-lived if a 30-day late on my Sears account (recently upgraded to a mastercard) finds it way back onto my TU report.  Keeping fingers crossed that it doesn't!

Wow; I forget Duchess, what's the rest of your file look like in terms of tradelines and age?  4 year old 30 day late and north of 800 on a FICO '08 is something I wouldn't have even expected: I know the general theory is 30 day lates aren't huge penalties (and FICO '08 has a clause to ignore isolated lates anyway in theory) but this is still an interesting data point to me.

I'm still not sure why this score is worse than Merrick (let alone why my TU lags behind EX & EQ)

Merrick is Bankcard-enhanced: all bets are off when we're talking industry options, but we've theorized that it probably counts payment history on credit cards far harsher than things like tax liens as an example... also that installment history in general is likely depressed as well vis a vis car repo and mix of credit possibly too.

Someone with strong revolving history compared to the rest of the report likely should be higher on a BC industry option comparing within major FiCO revisions (Wally TU '08 to Merrick TU '08 BC for example)... and also with Bankcard Enhanced scores tapping out at 900, all other things being equal for gold-plated folks or evenly distributed mixed files like myself, it's likely higher for that reason too.

TY!   That's a very good explanation of the difference.   I'm guessing my high balance SLs or the housing collection (will fall off in Sept from TU!) have more weight in TU08 than TU08 BC.

I'm really curious as to why TU is my worst score, though.  My scores on EX and EQ are over 700.  I have more HPs on TU, but that wouldn't account for a 40 pt difference.
