Turning it over to an attorney does not mena lawsuit - there are lawyer/collectors that just because the have JD affer their name can intimidate people into paying.

This is not to say that they may not be thinking a lawsuit - you just don't need to flip-out because of the word attorney. If they do send to a collector attorney you DV the attorney. If for a lawsuit - you DV the CA and cc that attorney.  This won't save you from the SOL not having expired but it may buy you some time to manuever.  On the other hand - they might not be able to validate.

I thought that two CAs couldn't be reporting for the same OC?  Just the OC and one CA....

I disputed these with the CRA just waiting for the info to come back in about a week or so. I think that is why I recieved the letter about the attorney since I disputed it (just a theory). Then the other day I recieved a letter fom midland about a different acct for SWB and they want me to send them cancelled checks and proof (before this forum I would have given up, but now I laugh at their letters). On this one I think I should send the letter telling them that they are responsible for validating not me.Is this correct?? Should I wait untill I get word back from the CRA before I DV midland and the other CA about Dell? I just want to do everything right. THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!!!

Is SWB  a phone co. bill?     Midland is known to buy these & changed DOFD & DOLA......they will also sell it to someone else.    If you have any idea that you would be past SOL   then DV them!

I always advice people to be ready to pay if not past SOL  it is important!

yes a phone co. I don't recall when I had this acct. It could have been past 4 yrs ago If I DV them will they tell me the DOFD that they have?
