what do i do next

well i pulled my credit report and it looked like lmy charged off credit cards had not been sold to a CO...how wrong was i...i have called all of the OC's to ask for my credit cards to be re-age after 6 payments...however i was told that the TL had been sold to CO's...the csr's were helpful enough to give me the name and phone number of the CO...i guess its time to write them a validation letter

Mskay, I don't recall your story (if you told it on here--sorry). But, make sure of your state's SOL, before sending the DV. You don't want this to backfire on you.

BTW, the OC wouldn't accept payments?

No, they referred me over to the CA...How come yr advising me not to send DV ltr if the accounts are within SOL?(which they are)

If the $ amount is significant enough and you are within SOL, they could possibly get upset and sue you. I am not saying that you can't send the DV. I am saying count the costs and weigh your options first.

It is ok to send DV if within SOL, but what Byrdman was probably referring to as backfire, is that you need to be prepared to PIF if they decide to file suit and seek a judgement against you. If you can't PIF they could get judgement plus attorney fees plus additional interest.
