what do i do when an old good account disappears?!?

One day I noticed a very old good account stopped reporting, and then was completely removed from my report! 3 months later, another account from the same company (student loan company ACS) was removed and/or disappeared from 2 other credit agencies!

???!!!

I called the company 2 months ago and asked them to re-report it to the CRA's, yet they still have not done so, and my scores have suffered as a result. They are aware the account is current, in fact I am making payments on these accounts every month--so why would they just be deleted from my record? I did dispute them as never late before, and the creditor agreed to remove the lateness, but now 2 of the accounts are completely gone! I've called the creditor and the CRA's directly, but they can't seem to get the account reinstated on my CR's. Why is this such a long tedious process? If it's all electronic anyway, why can't they just submit the info electronically and have it update right away, or at least in a few days...what is with the delays?

It's really starting to piss me off...

Thank goodness for very old good accounts.

bamf..........does your question imply that after 10 years, old closed accounts drop off automatically?

the account is not closed, but it has been removed 1 month ago...I am still making payments on the account. It should be listed as paying as agreed, and have balances

Yes after 10 yrs of being closed a good account will fall off. A bad account will drop after 7 years.

So 10 years before it is due to drop off you need to open a new one to replace it  Smiley Very Happy
