A FA doesn't affect your CR one way or the other.
What it does do is that when you do apply for credit, you won't be able to get an instant decision. The prospective creditor will take steps to verify your identity before granting credit. They'll probably ask you to supply a recent utility bill with your name and home address on it, a government issued picture id (such as a drivers license), and perhaps another form of identity verification.
