Re: BK or foreclosure rules, which apply?

I too filed bk7 5/07 and was discharged in 8/07...I just starting reading here about that 2 year mark...what does that mean?  I did not reaffirm and I kept thehouse and am  making my payments still monthly..

When will my mortgage company consider letting me refinance to a better rate? and does anyone know if I would qualify for that stimulus package going on  since I filed bk and didnt reaffirm even though I still have house and am still making the monthly payments?  does this 2 year mark help me in any other way as far as credit is concerned ? like will credit card companies be more lenient in giving me a card than they are now?

thanks for any help

Re: BK or foreclosure rules, which apply?

You won't be eligible for the tax credit because you've owned (and have continued to own) your principal residence within the past three years. You will probably have more options for refinancing once you reach the two years post-discharge date, depending on whether or not you have any equity in the house at its current value.

what  do youmean by the tax credit?  I was talking about that stimulus plan for mortgages...do you think I would be eligible for that since I included the mortgage in my bankruptcy and did not reaffirm?
