First Time Home Buyer Grant Program Florida

Does anyone know if there are any first time home buyer grant programs in Florida? We are getting ready to start the pre approval process in a couple months most likely FHA or USDA and wanted to know. I feel like they are non existent now a days. ☹️ Any help and info with either FHA or USDA grant programs would be much appreciated, thanks!

Please be very cautious when researching these programs.  IME the program details vary widely and in some instances the interest rate and closing cost increases (due to the program) wipe out any benefit you get IMO.

What I mean by that is the cost to you, the buyer, is much higher using one of these programs.  The best thing to do is compare program details with the standard FHA program so you can see the pricing differences.  Also, most of these programs use total gross HH income, even if the other people in the household are not on the mortgage. 

Some of the programs utilize the bond program available in some counties/cities in Florida. That program, from what I have seen, is a better program for the buyer/borrower than programs like SHIP.
