We closed today and were told that our mortgage will be serviced by US Bank. Does anyone know how they are? I've never dealt with them before. Thanks!
I used to be an Assistant Branch Manager for US Bank 8+ years ago, and I will say this... In my experience, the more money you have with them, the more they love you. Having a home loan with them you should (unless it's changed) qualify for their Platinum Checking account, which is a great account if you have a local branch. It pretty much has zero fees for almost everything.
The really interesting thing about them is the fact that they use an internal Relationship Management Score (RMS) thus generates based on how much money you have with them, how much you use their products, if you pay any fees for anything (even things like wire transfers) it factors into it... and with them, this RMS score factored into almost everything they do. You want an OD fee reversed? They'll check the RMS score. You want to increase a credit line on a CC but you have a high utilization? They'll use the RMS score (and CR).... However, they can also be the snobbiest lender in terms of wanting high credit scores for items...
Just some word vomit from someone who used to work there years ago... I guess a lot of this could have changed in that gap 😂
I don't work there, but I do use them and I will say they do seem to have (at the very least) some sort of relationship weight. I've never had a problem getting them to do right by me. I like them as much as anyone can like any bank.
Hope this helps, Peter
