Using Income

Is it possible for me to use my husbands income but not his credit when applying for a mortgage?  If it is not possible, can I get the mortgage in my name & then ad his name at a later date?

Re: Using Income

No, you can not use income unless that person is on the loan.  To add him later, you would have to wait until his credit would qualify, then refinance the home.  You can not add people on to a mortgage like you can a credit card.

Also, depending on which state you live in, (if it is a community property state), you may be required to qulaify on your income, but both of your debts.
