Sounds like another one. Each should list the item(s) the IRS is claiming you did not report. You need to compare them to your tax return.
Does each say cp-2000 and something like proposed changes ?
Then the second one should show the overpayment as a credit. Four to six weeks for refund. Good Luck

Hi there! I just received a CP2000 in the mail this week. It was my fault, and I am planning on agreeing to the proposed changes. I was just wondering, how do I know for sure that this issue will be resolved? Did you receive a letter in the mail confirming your payment? I just don't like how one sided the IRS is. I don't want to be left wondering for months and months if everything has been handled.
Also, I've been trying to get into contact with an actual human on the phone. If you don't mind me asking, which phone number did you use to call? All the numbers I have tried are automated and don't leave you with the option to speak to a representative.
Thanks you in advance! Wishing you the best of luck!
