Ok...I guess I will see on Monday. 2 of 4 banks deposit early. Obviously Cap1 isn't an early depositor at least not for me. PNC offer expires 11/30, I've gotta jump on that one too.

I've found very few large banks do early credit of payroll DDS.
I app'd for Cap One first on 11/18 and then PNC later that day, instant approval for Cap One, "we'll review your app" for PNC. Both use EWS and DPs indicate PNC can be skittish on recent EWS inquiries. I called PNC 12/20 to ask of I could 'provide any additional info'. Rep had me confirm all my personal info and then told me they review all apps manually and to call back by 11/24 if I didn't hear anything by then. I did mention that I banked with BBVA so I wanted an "early start" with PNC. Don't know if that helped but I did get an approval email 11/24. With PNC you have to wait for the debit card to arrive to get online access and find out your account #, so that cuts into your 60 days to meet DD requirement.
If I am interpreting this correctly, I should be able to schedule two ACH deposits (from my bank) and this would suffice?
When setting up Capital One as a "destination account" with my current bank, my bank states that a transfer to this account will appear as "an ACH credit"
Thanks

@krielly I haven't confirmed that yet. I opened the account 11/16 and set up a real DD $500 on 11/30 and 12/15 to make sure that $1000 goes through well within 60 days.
I set up Zelle so I can send it right back to Navy on payday. On 12/16, I will change my $500 DD back to Navy, actually PNC for the next promo 😂😂
Anyone use ACH for this yet?? We probably won't know since the bonuses won't be deposited until March, April, and May.
Four days after opening I entered 3 accts for DD and Cap1 being number 2. So i got paid today and for some strange reason Cap1 was not funded. The same thing happened to PNC last Oct. I don't know if both accts were too new or what. Head scratcher so on my next pay period I will have only have 2 accts.
Just adding some info here. When attempting to open my account, I received an error message. I had to call Cap One. Here are some things I learned:
1. Even though I entered the code, they were NOT able to see it on their end.
2. I was assured that my ACH deposits (while not payroll) would count towards the bonus. (I will call a rep after the first one occurs to be certain of this fact)
3. I was told there is some type of "glitch" when people don't immediately fund the account upon opening, which causes the code to not be applied. The rep told me that they are "unable to by pass this". I will need to call back after March 1st to get them to "reapply the code".
I was assured they have placed notes on my account referencing all of the above issues and that my call on March 1st will "take care of everything".
I will believe it when it happens.... We shall see.

@krielly It's 2020, we have all types of technology at our fingertips. They can't add the "BONUS400" code because you didn't choose to immediately fund? - took my immediate funding about a week to post.
CapOne told my mom the same EXACT thing! In her words "they will put me in the program after I finish my direct deposit requirements" she didn't seem worried about not collecting the bonus at all! So maybe there is something to it? Maybe their process is flawed but they can't revamp in the middle of a pandemic promo 😬
Are you going to try any others?

You know, I've posted in this thread a couple times now that to "be safe" I'm using real payroll direct deposits. But it was recently pointed out to me that it's actually right there on their offer page: https://www.capitalone.com/bonus400/
"A qualifying direct deposit is an . . ACH credit, which MAY include payroll or government payments . . . OR and outside institution".
I already have a payroll DD of $500+ headed their way, but I'm just going to do an ACH of $500+ from Penfed and git 'er done.
UPDATE: So I made my first ACH transfer from my CU last week. I called a rep yesterday. He indicated he could see all the notes on my file. I had him take a look at my transfer and confirm for me that this type of transfer qualified for the promotion. He did, and assured me it qualified. I then asked him to please make a notation of this on my file. He said he would. I have his name, date and time of my call documented. So, I will make my second ACH transfer this week. He also told me to "call March 1st" to have the bonus applied.
