I woke up this morning to an email from Chase that an ACH withdrawl left my checking account with about $1 in it. Capital One processed the ACH transfer in the WRONG DIRECTION. Fortunately, the dollar was left so Chase won't be mad, but I am FURIOUS with Capital One!

Did you screen shot the confirmation or review page?
I wrote down the confirmation number and whatnot, but I don't generally screenshot. Since I'm not going to incur fees anywhere, I'm planning to just let it go through and I'll send it back since asking Cap1 to step in would likely be slower than letting it go through on its own. I took screenshots this time of scheduling the transfer to Chase though, so I have that fully documented in case something goes awry again.
Yep, I always take screenshots just for this reason, although the funny thing is, the only time I had a huge issue I pulled up my screenshot to mail to the lender and realized I was the one who screwed up, lol. My screenshot showed it exactly as it happened.
Good that you had that $1 in Chase! I was down to $0.01 in my Chase checking a few months ago because I transferred funds out before new funds came in, but it isn't an account I use very often (it's a household checking account so doesn't get any swipes or transfers typically as I'm the only one who lives in the household 100% of the time).
I don't recall such an event happening to me since I usually leave more then enough just in case a problem appears.

This may have been the largest single ACH transfer I've ever made, though most of the time there would be more than enough buffer.
Fortunately it's all ironed out now. ![]()
